Mark Ward - Wine Maker
Meet our head winemaker Mark Ward!
Mark fell in love with wine while traveling for work. Inspired, he went back to school, studying viticulture and oenology at Washington State University. Mark worked his first harvest at Pamplin Family Winery, a boutique winery in Oregon specializing in Bordeaux style blends.
In 2014, Mark relocated to Virginia, where he interned at the Pearmund family of wineries and The Winery at Bull Run. In 2015, he was hired as an assistant winemaker at the Pearmund locations, with the 2017 vintage marking the start of his tenure as Head winemaker at Vint Hill, while continuing to assist at the other locations.
